Well, customers got a call and the tech is finally coming out to replace the part. The tech is over an hour away... maybe I should become a tech for Dell. Then perhaps people around here would be more likely to get service. geez.

Too bad it takes so much assertive contact to get anything done, and that the customer has been without a working drive for months... and their warranty fortunately didn't run out yet.

Thinking that's the thing... stall until the warranty runs out. heh! they bought the three-year warranty... long time to stall, huh?
